Birchgrove: Our story…
At Birchgrove we believe that no matter where we live, we just want to feel at home. And just because we’re now ‘getting on a bit’ doesn’t mean that our home has to become an institution. So we’ve tried to build a place that many different people can call home.
Make yourself at home
We are creating a portfolio of high-quality assisted living communities within and around the M25, offering contemporary apartments for rent in brand-new, purpose-built facilities.
Underlying Birchgrove’s business model is a belief that the current housing options for people over 65 exclude a large section of those who don’t want to manage another house purchase – and therefore “assisted living for rent is the missing piece in the housing puzzle; not right for all, but perfect for some”.
Wave ‘bye-bye’ to buying. Say “hello” to renting.
Buying an apartment in your retirement isn’t always the best option - so why should it be the only option.
Birchgrove offers another way; one with all the benefits of independent living, but without the complications of owning a house. We take care of the day-to-day like building repairs and mowing the lawn, so you're free to get on with the things you really want to do.

Birchgrove has partnered with M&G Real Estate (M&G) – the company that owns the Prudential. Commenting on the partnership, Honor Barratt, Managing Director, Birchgrove, says: “In Bridges Fund Management Birchgrove has always had a partner who believes wholeheartedly in the value of achieving better outcomes for our residents and for the planet.
“We’re delighted to be entering into this long-term partnership with M&G, which will allow us to move forward on an even stronger, more sustainable footing. That will not only benefit our existing residents; it will also enable us to build and operate more beautiful homes and communities for those of us who want to join our quiet rental revolution.”
Under the terms of the partnership with M&G, Birchgrove will continue to manage Queensgate Apartments, Sidcup and Woodbank Apartments, Woking and any other similar properties that the Fund acquires. It’s a huge endorsement from such a well-known household name and we’re delighted that M&G are as excited about building homes for people in later life as we are.
For our residents and prospective residents not much will change - the same Birchgrove team and all the services that we provide will remain the same. The partnership represents the commitment to continue to invest in the bricks and mortar of our communities and to keep them looking as good for many years to come.
